I’m probably best known for sports photography, particularly Gaelic football. I love the obvious moments, the tackle, the score, the celebration, but just as much the quieter ones around them: the nerves before a game, the reaction on the sideline, the embrace afterwards, and the people who make a club or team what it is.

That same approach carries into weddings, family occasions, portraits and events. I’m not particularly interested in making everything look staged or perfect. I’d rather photograph people as they really are and build a set of images that tells something of their story.

I don’t really advertise. Most of my work comes through word of mouth, recommendations, or people finding my photography through Facebook. I quite like it that way, one job or one story tends to lead naturally to the next.

Away from photography, there’s a fair chance I’m roasting coffee, measuring something unnecessarily precisely, or trying to understand why the last roast behaved differently from the one before it.

I also do some one-to-one videography, usually centred on helping someone tell their own story in their own words. As with the photography, what interests me most is the human side, the personality, experience and meaning behind the story.

For event and match galleries, I usually share images by private download link so they are easy for teams, families, clubs and clients to view, download and share.
